Are you being buried or planted?

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

Oftentimes we are faced with situations and circumstances that will make us think, we are being buried alive. Our circumstances may be so hard and hurtful, it may make us question whether God is still with us, or our circumstances may leave us asking God, what did I do to be in such a situation?

Please know and believe, God has a purpose for everything that happens in our lives. No matter how horrible a situation or circumstance is, God is using everything that happens to us for a specific divine purpose. God may be trying to show us something, teach us something, strengthen us or prepare us for something. Whatever God's purpose is, it works out for our good, we may not be able to see the good right away but if we love and believe in God and can push pass our pain and persevere, we will ultimately see what God's purpose is for the situations and circumstances we face.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

So, you see...this is not my word, this is God's word. God promises us, that ALL things work together for our good. Do you really get that? That is awesome news! Even when we make decisions that may not be in alignment with God's principles or plan for us and our lives, God is still merciful enough to shine His light in our tunnels to guide us through and out of the darkness.

According to Google, the word plant means to place in the ground so that it can grow.

According to Google, the word buried means to place in the ground and cover over for concealment. To put (a dead body) in a grave or tomb. Clearly, there is a difference in being planted and buried. Planting produces life and growth. Burying hides and covers death.

God is love and light. Do you think God is allowing you to be planted or buried?

God will not set us up to be buried. God's word speaks of His desire to give us hope and to see us prosper.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

The troubles and issues you are facing now, you are facing for a divine purpose. There are a lot of things that I don't understand but the one thing that I do understand is, GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES.

We may bury ourselves, but God plants us.

So maybe the question should be, are you burying yourself?

Are you stuck and have decided that you will just stay stuck because it is too hard to get unstuck?

Have you given up on God and yourself?

I've allowed myself to be stuck for a very long time. I buried myself. I had to decide to kick the dirt off of me and dust myself off and move forward.

I was allowing fear of the unknown and fear of failure to keep me stuck.

I was afraid of operating in my purpose because I was afraid of what others would say and think versus what I should have been first and utmost concerned about, which is, what God thinks of me, not doing what He called me to do.

I was afraid of starting something new and not being able to maintain what I started. Well, what I started to realize is, if I have God driven purpose, God will help me maintain it, IF, I am consistently working. and serving Him.

In order to please God and fulfill my purpose, I knew I had to push pass the fear that I allowed to build up within myself and leap out on faith. I also know that there are others that are connected to my purpose. I don't want to be responsible for others not getting the help and deliverance they need because of my reluctance to proceed in my purpose.

You have a purpose, and you may be afraid to operate in your purpose, but can you imagine having to face God and telling Him, I was too scared to do what you told me to do God, maybe next time? There may be no next time. We all have an expiration date and there is something specific God wants us all to do before that expiration date. We are on this earth to serve God and His people. My purpose, your purpose, is not about me or you, our God driven purpose is about other people. Other people are tied to you and your purpose.

The next time your problems and circumstances get the best of you, and it feels like you are being buried alive, remember that God is planting you, so that you can produce fruit, and that fruit will be able to be seen in your life at the appointed time.

This speaks volumes! We often burry our own selves then start questioning/blaming God, but fail to see His ultimate plan for good in our lives. I'm planted, not buried!
